Maths Terminology Flashcards: Division

This resource includes 17 flashcards featuring commonly used terminology related to the mathematical topic of division.

Each flashcard includes a corresponding definition, which can optionally be printed on the reverse side.

These cards are designed to:

• Assist students with reading and understanding vocabulary found in the mathematics topic division.
• Assist students with dyslexia to read worded maths questions. When students are able to accurately read a maths question, they have greater opportunity to respond correctly.

The language that we use to describe mathematical can be complex. Students therefore need to be skilled in reading and interpreting mathematical language in order to identify the operations required, and solve the problem.

Flashcards are beneficial in reducing cognitive load, encouraging active recall and building confidence. They are also great for visual learners.
